COVID-19 Facts and Information
Safety is a top priority at ApexCare. We are closely monitoring local, state and national health guidelines and planning ahead to remain prepared for COVID-19.
If you think you have COVID-19 symptoms
IF you suspect you may have COVID-19 and you are experiencing serious symptoms – such as difficulty breathing, seek immediate help at the ER. Please call ahead to alert the ER you are coming.
If you have milder symptoms such as cough or fever and would like to be tested, CALL THE OFFICE FIRST at (803)408-0225 and we will Give you instructions on coming in for the test. PLEASE DO NOT SIMPLY WALK IN and ask to be tested.
Scheduled Appointments
We are still allowing patients to come in for their scheduled doctor's appointment if they are NOT showing signs of respiratory illness, such as:

Fever

Cough

Sore throat
-
Shortness of breath
-
OR, you have had contact with someone who has or is under investigation, for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
If you are showing symptoms, please call the office to reschedule. For your convinience we now offer Telehealth visits.
Visits and waiting room policies
Only individuals who are scheduled to be seen are admitted into the office, in appropriate cases one support person may be admitted.
To avoid crowding in our waiting room, you may be asked to wait in your car outside till it is time to see you.
All persons showing signs of respiratory illness, such as:

OR, persons who have had contact with someone who has or is under investigation, for COVID-19 in the last 14 days. will not be admited to the office. You must Call ahead and recieve guidance regarding your visit
All persons admited to the office are required to wear a Face mask and to wash their hands on arrival.

How does it spread?
COVID-19 is spread by close person-to-person contact from droplets from a cough or sneeze, or by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it then touching your mouth, nose or eyes. It can also be spread through shaking hands or close personal contact.

How can you prevent getting it?
The following tips will help to prevent COVID-19, as well as other respiratory viruses:

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

Cover your cough/sneeze with a tissue.

Don’t touch your eyes, nose or mouth.

Avoid close contact with sick people.

Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces often.

Stay home when you are sick.
